Adding a Dog to the Family
Owning a dog at home results to many reactions to family members.Sometimes you are very comfortable having the dog around, but other times you are not sure why you have the dog in the first place. You may end up being very disappointed having a dog that destroys your decorations and shopping in the house especially when it behaves like an adolescent.So, it is imperative to create simple ways that you can use to accommodate your puppy so that it does not feel left out in the family.
Of course, every Tom, Dick, and Harry will be delighted on the arrival of the dog, and as a result, they will flatter and indulge the dog in the best way they know how. As much as you feel the urge to be around it, it is not good to overwhelm it with so much attention. For that reason, you should stop that behavior and act as if nothing is happening. In this way, the dog will slowly adapt living with you and so will you.
Salvage dogs can be very fierce therefore they use biting as their defense mechanisms so to warn you. Consequently, you should be able to give them their free space as they try to get used to their new environment.
Am sure you know what it’s like to be hungry and what it’s like when your dog ignores you.All this transpires when you do not feed it properly. Be sure to give it a hearty meal for it to be strong and to also feel that you care about it.
Just like human beings, rewarding a dog makes it feel appreciated and loved; therefore use snacks such as chicken dog treats to strengthen the bond between you and your dog.
But then again, you can also use the snack to train your dog. Similar to guests, a dog should also go through a tour of the house.In this case, the mongrel will accustom itself with the house, and as a result, it will walk around the house with ease.In case you feel that you are overwhelming it, then, it is advisable that you do not walk it around the house.
In conclusion, to circumvent spontaneous activities, it is recommendable that you create a routine with your dog for activities that you intend to do. The routine will enable the dog to know when certain things happen such as their daily walk and when to switch from one task to another. Thus, the dog will only repose once you are through with the daily tasks.
Once you practice the above procedures, then it should not pose any difficulties integrating the dog into the family.
